10/23 Web Tool Smackdown #2
My Web Tool focus was Blooket.com. I found out about this website in high school when teachers used it as review, but it was a fun competitive game that helped us (my classmates) review key ideas. Blooket.com is essentially a free website that can help people create and review study sets either by themselves or as a group. Through this website people can either create specific sets designed for their learning while also making studying a little more bit more entertaining if they need a new way of looking at something.
I plan on using Blooket in my future educational career specifically for studying. With Blooket features like homework mode (a section where you can assign a set to be done later and share around) will allow people repeated practice of certain sets in order to keep track of their accuracy. Also, with the different types of games I use different types of study formats allowing my attention to refresh, when needed. In Blooket I can use it for my different classes from a range of vocab to key ideas needed. Lastly sometimes when I study with friends, Blooket can help make studying a little more fun because at the end of the session it can become a game of the topic while also showing the parts where there needs to be more review.
Overall Blooket.com is a free website that is a combination of repeatable diverse gamified studying, that helps with retention of lessons.
I love studying through games! Growing up my teachers used Kahoot or Quizlet or Quizzizz, but Blooket definitely seems interesting as well. I definitely wish I had known about this when I was studying for my Audio midterm last week. This is a good resource for students and for teachers who want to make class time a little more fun.
